What is the NCS?

The NCS offers vital financial assistance to families, specifically targeting early learning and childcare expenses. This scheme extends support to children aged between 24 weeks and 15 years, encompassing a wide range of developmental stages.

Types of Subsidies

Universal Subsidy: This subsidy is accessible to all eligible families without means testing, providing €2.14 per hour for up to 45 hours per week.

Income-Assessed Subsidy: Tailored to individual family circumstances, this subsidy considers factors such as family income, the child’s age, educational stage, and the number of children in the family. Rates are determined based on these variables, ensuring targeted support where it’s needed most.
